Lisa Walker-Annapolis Vet Center Office Manager; began work with the Department of Veteran Affairs on June 07, 2009. She is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Radioman Chief.  Lisa has worked for Department of Defense at the Navy Fleet and Family Support Center for eight years as an Information and Referral Specialist. Additionally she was a The UPS Store franchise owner.

Lisa Walker entered the U.S. Coast Guard from her hometown of Springfield Massachusetts in July 1976. She completed her 13 week basic training in Wildwood NJ, and then attended Radioman A School in Petaluma CA. She has seen tours of duty in Oregon, Guam, D.C, Hawaii, Maryland and a short tour aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Munro home ported out of Portland Oregon. Chief Walker retired from the Coast Guard in 1998 while stationed at the Office of Naval Intelligence in Suitland Maryland.

Accomplishments:

1. One of 64 County residents nominated for Anne Arundel County’s “Most Beautiful Person” award, for her volunteer work with abused/abusive families
2. Awarded for her working in increasing the total sales in her store the highest in her region
3. Awarded for her work with returning injured sailors and their families at Fort Meade
4. Graduate of U.S. Coast Guard Chief Petty Officers Academy
